Fr. Bryan Callen Answers Call to Diocese of Oklahoma

Dear Friends in Christ in the Diocese of Northwest Texas.

I write you today to highlight a transition for my family and the good people of St. Stephen’s and All Saints. Below is an excerpt from my letter to the two churches where I have had the pleasure to be in ministry these last two and a half years.

As I write this letter, I am reminded of Ecclesiastes 3:1.

“For everything there is a season and a time for every matter under heaven.”

I have always believed that a priest is called at a particular time and place to a specific people for a certain season of life. We were called together for this season of life. When I started, we did not know when that season would end; only God did. That season has come, and it is time for another season for me and you. I have been called to start a new season with another church, which was not taken lightly but prayed and discerned about over time.

My last Sunday will be October 13th, and my last day in the office will be October 18th. At that time, I will begin a new season with the people of St. Philip’s Episcopal Church in Ardmore, Oklahoma. There, I will serve as The Rector of St. Philip’s and as Chaplain of Oak Hall Episcopal School, which the children will attend in Ardmore. In this time of transition, will you keep me and my family in your prayers as we keep all of you at St. Stephen’s, All Saints, and the Diocese of Northwest Texas in our prayers.
