In this update, Fr. Jimmy Haney reflects on his ordination and new ministry assignment.

Key Updates

• Ordination: Ordained to the priesthood by Bishop Mayer on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at St. Mary Magdalene Episcopal Church (SMM) in Manor, TX. For planning resources, see page-3184354.
• Education: Graduated in May 2026 with a Master of Divinity from the Seminary of the Southwest in Austin.
• Current Ministry: Serving a two-year curacy at SMM (Diocese of Texas). While working in Manor, he remains canonically resident in the diocese-northwest-texas.
• Mentorship: Working under SMM Vicar, the Rev. Daniel Robayo Hidalgo, who also mentored him during his seminary field education.
• About SMM: Founded in 2010, SMM is a multiethnic, bilingual (English/Spanish) congregation in Travis County, known locally as "the church on the hill with red doors."
