Established in 2017 by the graduating class of the Diocesan school-of-ordained-ministry (SOM), this scholarship fund honors the late Rev. David "Fr. Dave" Huxley, who passed away in January 2026. Fr. Dave served as the rector of st-nicholas-midland, mentored SOM students, and participated in numerous diocesan and ecumenical initiatives.

For eight years, the fund has helped cover tuition, books, and travel costs for students of the SOM. The three-year program of the diocese-northwest-texas is modeled after the Iona School for Ministry (Diocese of Texas) to provide theological and practical education for those called to bi-vocational ordained ministry.
