An Invitation to Volunteer at Candlelight on the Ranch
Diocesan News
Canterbury Episcopal Campus Ministry at Texas Tech has been asked to volunteer for Candlelight on the Ranch at the National Ranching Heritage Center in Lubbock again this year. If you have never been to Candlelight on the Ranch, it is quite a site to see. During this two day event, holiday scenes are recreated in 15 historic structures such as the 1838 El Capote Log Cabin, 1886 XIT Ranch headquarters, 1888 Matador Half-Dugout and the Spur Trinity Mission Church. Visitors will have maps pointing the way to each structure, and they can download the NRHC app for specific details about each structure and a more guided experience.
This year, the event will be on December 8 and 9 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the National Ranching Heritage Center (NRHC). Again this year, Canterbury has been asked to show how Spur Trinity Mission Church would have celebrated Christmas in the 1920s, and Canterbury is looking for a few more volunteers to help out. If you are interested in participating, please contact Mother Leann Wigner at 575-631-5345 for more details.
