Supporting a youth at Camp Quarterman as a gift for someone else?

Don’t know what to give someone for Christmas this year? Do you have a relative that has everything, needs nothing, and has said so? Or maybe you have everything and need nothing? We just celebrated Thanksgiving, so why not carry over “giving thanks” to Christmas when you make your list of gifts to buy?
What about giving a scholarship for a youth to attend camp this summer in someone’s honor?
Camp Quarterman’s goal is to never turn any youth away from camp because of financial hardship. We have many campers who would not be unable to attend without a scholarship. And while we encourage the families to pay a portion, that looks different for each family’s situation.
Camp is not cheap BUT oh so worth it. Many lifelong friendships have been made at camp. Relationships with God have been grappled with at camp. Time to be a kid, however that looks is permitted at camp.
And while camp is not for every youth, some of our campers have been coming every year since 2nd grade and are about to graduate college. They attended camp as campers, then served as junior counselors in high school, and then counselors on staff. They want to be in on the planning of the next year.
So, how about the gift that lasts a lifetime? Literally, the “gift that keeps on giving!”
