Northwest Texas Deputies to Attend General Convention June 23-28

The 81st General Convention of the Episcopal Church will take place June 23 – 28, 2024 in Louisville, Kentucky at the Kentucky International Convention Center. Eight deputies from across the diocese will represent the Episcopal Diocese of Northwest Texas.
The clergy deputies are The Rev. Canon Mike Ehmer, chair of the deputation, The Rev. Ricardo Lopez from St. John's in Odessa, The Rev. Paige McKay from St. Stephen's Church and All Saints' School in Lubbock, and The Rev. Miriam Scott from St. Andrew's in Amarillo. The lay deputation includes Mrs. Carla Holeva from Holy Trinity in Midland, Dr. Dann Wigner from St. Stephen's in Lubbock, Ms. Mary Emeny from St. Andrew's in Amarillo, and Mrs. Kathy Balch from Heavenly Rest in Abilene. The Rev. David Romanik from Church of the Heavenly Rest, Abilene and Mrs. Shelley Neighbors, Emmanuel, San Angelo will attend serving as Alternate Deputies.
In addition, Bishop Scott Mayer and Kathy Mayer, Diocesan Administrator Elizabeth Jones and Roger Jones, Diocesan Communications Coordinator Leann Wigner, and Deacon Tammy Breitbarth from St. Andrew's in Amarillo will be attending convention as well. Please pray for the General Convention and safe travels for all.
Almighty and everliving God, source of all wisdom and understanding, be present with those who take counsel at General Convention for the renewal and mission of your Church. Teach us in all things to seek first your honor and glory. Guide us to perceive what is right, and grant us both the courage to pursue it and the grace to accomplish it; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
