Loading...Recently, two persons in the diocese reported receiving emails that appeared to be coming from Canon Ehmer, but were, in fact, what is known as "whaling." Katie Sherrod, Director of Communications for the Diocese of Fort Worth forwarded to us the following article from the Diocese of Newark that explains what these emails are, and what to do about them. If you are ever in doubt about an email from anyone in the Bishop's office (or another clergy person in the diocese), please contact the person verbally to confirm that it was sent from them. Please note, all business emails from one of the Bishop's staff will be from the address that ends @nwtdiocese.org.
Also, all suspicious emails should be reported to the Bishop's office and the United States Computer Emergency Readiness Team (US-CERT).
